Last night, after nearly a week of not running, I finally got in a run. It felt, amazing. I still can’t get super excited about going out there and running. Sure, I like the alone time, but it just isn’t on my list of favorite things to do. However, what keeps me getting out there is remembering the feeling I get after I am done running. That makes all of the huffing and puffing worth it.
Tonight I should have gotten out again, if I have any intention of getting in three runs this week. However, after chaperoning a trip to the Como Zoo, I figured I’d put in my physical exercise time for the day. I have learned, after going with on nearly every outside field trip this year, that a full breakfast before is a must, as is a filling lunch afterward. Nothing is as draining as preschoolers.
This trip had to be my favorite thus far. We were allowed to take our kids, and their buddies, wherever they wanted to go. That meant that I was free to talk them in to things like giant waterlilies and the butterfly garden.
We managed to see most of the elusive creatures and even saw one of the polar bears in their new home. That was by far one of my favorite parts, even if it did require explain that no, Buzz was not named after Buzz Lightyear, but instead after Buzz Aldrin.
Thanks for all of the kind comments about the new design.
