Savvy, Savvy

A long time ago, and actually the reason for this blog, I had a paid writing gig.  It was my first, and only, paid writing job.  It is the whole reason that I am such good friends with Christina, and why I met Stefania, and why I have anything more than wee little blog with a few pictures of my kid for my friends.

The site was Savvy Source, and I was one of the first writers for things to do in Minneapolis.  It is still home to two of my favorite pieces of fun writing.  (One about clouds and my favorite REM song)  I unfortunately had to give up the writing after realizing I couldn’t balance it all.  It is something I am still sad about.  I had a lot of fun.

Fortunately for me, and you, they are now doing something new.  It started in the SF Bay area, and as of today they have expanded it to the Twin Cities.  They are offering cool deals on activities, memberships, and events for kids and families.  The best part is that with every deal that they sell, they donate money back to a scholarship fund.

Minneapolis Savvy Savings & Scholarships launched early, but even if you aren’t here, starting on September 13th, they are expanding to 20 more cities.

About the local deal going on right now.  Kidcreate Studio does in house field trips for M’s daycare.  They always do these really cool projects that are way more involved (and messy) than any teacher would be up for doing with 20 kids.  As in, they are lasting sculpture pieces that we display.  We love them, and I know the daycare people do to.  Expect to see other cool deals soon, including the awesome Children’s Theater. Seriously, check it out.

Disclosure Stuff: The links to deals above, and on my side bar over there, are affiliate type links.  As in, I get something back if you get a deal through my referral link.  Not that I care so much about that really.  Mostly I think it is a cool thing.
