Daring. Greatly.

I bought myself a red dress.  I have always loved Jenny’s Red Dress.  It has been inspirational.  I loved seeing WhyMommy wear it.  I loved seeing Kelly wear it.

After the Katie Couric did her piece on the red dress Kelly posted about being able to get your own, I dared to buy my own.  Though not from Gilt, because they don’t have my size, like at all.  Being the practical person that I am, I wanted something I could wear to work.  This is what I came up with.

It is unlike anything I’ve ever worn, especially at this size, but I love it.

It is this dress from Lands End, and a belt from Target (that they still have, I was just there looking at belts).

It is not a ball gown, I will have to wait for that, perhaps as a reward at the end of a long journey.

In this mean time, this is my red dress.  This is me daring greatly to take on things I never thought I could at work. This is me daring to take on being the best advocate for my daughter that I can be, even though it means confronting my own demons.  This is me daring greatly to survive the toddler rhino that H is. This is me daring greatly to be my authentic self.
